What defines a princess wedding dress?
A fitted bodice, a defined waist and a full skirt: princess wedding dresses bring these proportions together. The volume can be the detail you fall for first. Look at the neckline and back as well, and notice how they change the balance of the whole dress.
Princess or A-line?
A princess silhouette usually has more volume through the skirt than an A-line wedding dress. The distinction varies between designs. Try both, take a few steps and sit down. You may love the presence of a fuller skirt or prefer a gentler flare.
How fabric changes a full skirt
A smooth surface draws attention to folds and shape; lace adds a pattern of its own. Compare satin and lace wedding dresses to see which catches your eye. The construction matters too: a full skirt does not tell you how heavy a dress will feel.
Choosing a veil and planning for the train
Try your chosen veil with the dress and look at the two together from the back. Notice where each ends and which details remain visible. At your fitting, ask how the skirt is supported and how the train can be managed during the celebration. The answer depends on your particular gown.
