Berta

Berta is a full ball gown cut from patterned organza, ivory laid over a powder-blush lining. Roses and trailing leaves are worked into the sheer fabric itself, opaque against the fine ground, so the same motif runs without a break across every panel, sleeves included. The strapless bodice is draped in wide bands that cross at the front and settle into a soft sweetheart neckline; at the back, vertical seams hold the line and meet a center-back fastening. Below a narrow waist seam the skirt opens into deep, airy volume and falls into a long sweeping train. Two details keep the silhouette contemporary: detachable puff sleeves that sit away from the bodice, gathered into rounded volumes above the elbow and leaving the shoulders and upper back bare, and a high slit at the front of the skirt that opens with every step. For the bride who wants the full princess line, carried in light organza.
