Ida

A climbing vine, not a bouquet.

Ida is for the woman who wants a pattern with something growing in it. The lace was drawn and made for this dress alone: slender stems that climb, small leaves turning along them, and little three-dimensional blossoms raised off the surface so that each one throws its own shadow. It covers the bodice and the full length of the long sleeves, then breaks at the waist and carries on in single sprigs across the top of the skirt. Set on sheer tulle, it is worn rather than applied on top. A narrow V runs to the waist at the front, the scoop back shows only part of it, and the hand-stitched tulle skirt carries a waterfall train.

Because the quietest choice in the room is usually the deliberate one.
